BJB College is named after Shri Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Bhramarabara Ray, the rebel activist in the history of pre-independent India.

The college undertakes Higher Secondary Education under the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa. And also offers a series of Under Graduate courses.

BJB College is an autonomous university following the grant of autonomy under UGC since 1999.

BJB College has grown to become one of the best multi-faculty and co-educational institutions in the state.
